It will be impossible to write a short memory or casual eclipse about Brandon. But I am grateful to take a moment and remember this wonderful man, my late and dearly loved husband.
I was recently found by Patrisha McLean author and amazing woman currently finishing her book called, All Fall Down, The Brandon deWilde Story. Imagine my surprise to have my secretary walk in and say this person is on the phone and wants to know if you know Brandon deWilde.
My heart surely paused and slipped, and for a brief moment I remembered how wide and deep the loss was at only 21 years of age. My first conversation with her passed with tissues and pauses to catch my self and be reminded it was almost 40 years ago when he passed out of my life and the lives of so many others.
However, I, like many of you have vivid recall, and maybe, I more than you. I hope if you are an avid follower that you will look for the release of Patrisha's book. Nothing in it for me but to see his story told with honesty and kindness, and from her viewpoint, her own love for this tender young soul.
Yes he left way too young, but I know I will see him again...

I am even more astonished! Today I received my copy of All Fall Down, The Brandon deWilde Story by Patrisha McLean. Before my thought let me interject that the book is beautiful. The cover is captivating, looking directly into the heart of Brand as a child...but the content is illuminating even to me...Here is the core of it;
Brandon knew so many people, rubbed shoulders with, ate meals with, tossed back a few (and perhaps a few too many) with so many "stars" and yet, he remained, or choose to retain a sincere heart that cared; about people, about honesty, even about love. He was part of a generation trying to muster through a sea of questions with faulty answers and directionals poised to confuse even the seasoned traveler.
And he was so young. He was one of those, set on a course planned by others, who had the courage to step away looking for his own purpose in life. When I opened the book it took my breath away...and for a short moment there was that familiar hole, an absence forever missed. He was a wonderful man. My humble thanks to Patrisha for remembering Brandon.
